About Us
The UVM Kayak Club is a group of passionate and dedicated UVM students who, through the club have developed as leaders and obtained the expertise and certifications to guide and kayak on rivers nationwide. The UVMKC's mission is to make kayaking more accessible by providing all necessary gear, instruction, and safety at no cost so that anyone can get on the river! We have Swiftwater Rescue certified instructors to lead safe trips and get people rolling in an awesome sport. You can learn the basics at the Patrick Gym pool during our pool sessions, and shortly there after come out on the river with us. We have all the gear you need to get started and have awesome trips you will get to attend! Reach out to us for more information or with any questions!

Nope! We provide all the necessary gear for kayaking, including kayaks, paddles, and safety equipment. Just bring yourself and a willingness to learn!
Unfortunately, we require participants to sign up in advance for pool sessions to ensure we have enough equipment and space available. Make sure you're on the email list to receive sign-up links!
No prior experience is necessary. We welcome beginners and provide instruction to help you get started.
To participate in our L1 river trips, you must attend at least one pool session and learn how to wet exit.
